Congrats

This weekend Charlotte Mecklenburg Library proudly opened its newest library located on South Boulevard to the public.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Library Board Chair Robert Harrington with help from Mecklenburg County Commissioner Susan Harden.

Shiel Sexton is proud to have been the construction manager on this project and help make the library’s vision come to life. The construction team commemorated the event with custom coloring books and crayons for all those in attendance.

The event included a DJ, photo booth, face painting and food trucks.  Assistant project manager, Joe Krebs, even got a new library card!

The new location boasts almost 19,000 SF of space with new amenities including children and teens areas, public computers along with children-specific computers, study rooms, collaborative spaces, a laptop bar for those who bring their own computer and a convenient vending café.

The Shiel Sexton team consisting of Josh Craft, Project Manager, Joe Krebs, Assistant PM, Shawn Russell, Superintendent, Dave Land, Project Executive and Chuck Scholer, Vice President, were thrilled with the success of the project and look forward to future endeavors with MPV Properties and Mecklenburg County.
