While we just said good-bye to our 2017 summer interns in August, we are already gearing up for our 2018 Summer Interns. The Talent Management department is excited to welcome 15 interns already, with plans to keep recruiting in February.

Our team visited six career fairs this fall, and found great talent for our upcoming summer internship program. We have a variety of students joining us from Ball State University, Indiana State University, Purdue University, and East Carolina University.

During our internship program, students will gain the experience of filed knowledge and work alongside a Project Manager and/or Superintendent. This will allow students to gain a better understanding of the construction industry, assisting in their future career endeavors.

“The internship program helped me get a better understanding of how the construction industry actually functions rather than just learning/reading about it in a classroom setting,” Project Engineer Wes Pegs said, “While interning in Louisville, I worked with the entire project team and learned what the day-to-day was for each position, which helped me decide what leadership route I wanted to pursue.”

With all the plans we have in store, we cannot wait for the interns to join our Shiel Sexton Family in May!
