This month, the Indiana Subcontractors Association (ISA) Leadership Development Academy held sessions highlighting sales and business development strategies for the construction industry. Shiel Sexton’s project manager, Mark Winters, attended the three-part seminar. The instructors for the class of 18 included representatives from both the subcontracting and construction management sectors.

A few topics that were covered in the sessions:

  • Business Development
  • Measuring Success
  • Relationship between HR and Business Development

A couple of key focuses highlighted during the learning sessions were how to make a business stand out, and how to successfully implement business development into the sales cycle.

Shiel Sexton’s project manager, Kurt Roubal, was also recently accepted into the incoming class for the ISA Leadership Development Academy next year.

Kurt responded, “I am excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the construction industry through this ISA course. Learning from and participating in class sessions with young professionals will benefit myself as I grow in my career and Shiel Sexton as we work alongside these individuals and companies on future projects.”
