Dan Murphy, Shiel Sexton’s CFO was honored last week as a nominee for the 2019 Indianapolis Business Journal CFO of the Year award.  

Since beginning with Shiel Sexton in 2007, Dan has led the implementation of countless changes at Shiel Sexton including strategically restructuring the accounting department and assisting the company in becoming significantly more disciplined in accurate financial reporting and projecting. Dan was also instrumental in Shiel Sexton’s transition to 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Dan researched the strategy, laid out the architecture for the plan, and saw it through to full implementation. The ESOP will allow Shiel Sexton to perpetuate the company for the next 50 years and beyond.

Shiel Sexton couldn’t be more proud of Dan and his achievements over the past 12 years, and we’re ecstatic that he was recognized on a greater scale for all that he has contributed.
