Located in NoDa, Charlotte’s historic arts and entertainment district, lies Mercury NoDa, the latest luxury apartment complex by Woodfield Investments completed by Shiel Sexton.  The 241-unit, high end residential complex is three to five stories with a central courtyard anchored by a heated, saltwater pool surrounded by outdoor grills, cabanas, TV’s and a fire pit.

The luxury amenities continue into the complex with a 24-hour state of the art fitness club and cyber café complete with catering kitchen and billiards.  Paying homage to the surrounding arts district, the main level is punctuated by brightly colored walls and a rotating local artist gallery wall.  The studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments feature quartz countertops, designer lighting, custom cabinetry and French patio doors with ample natural light in the spaces. An integral parking deck, wrapped by the apartments provides both public and private parking for residents of the complex.   There is no question, Mercury NoDa is Charlotte’s newest apartment destination with endless amenities and first-class service!

The construction of Mercury NoDa had its challenges for the Shiel Sexton team.  The small 3.3 acre site contained quantities of unsuitable soils, groundwater levels that required dewatering before and after the construction process, and was boarded by roads on each side, making site logistics extremely tight and difficult.  The construction schedule and activities had to be perfectly timed for deliveries as there was limited lay-down space for storage of materials.  “Working within a tightly knit neighborhood like NoDa, you are very conscientious about not only what construction is happening on your job site, but how it’s affecting the neighborhood,” commented John DeWalt, Sr Project Manager for Shiel Sexton.  “We worked diligently to keep crews respectful of the neighborhood itself, in addition to keeping their tasks on schedule.”

With construction complete, Mercury NoDa is a showpiece of the neighborhood, blending the arts with luxury amenities.  Shiel Sexton is proud of this project and looks forward to the completion of the Music Factory apartments located in Charlotte and expected to turnover in March 2017, as well as Gateway Center located in Durham, NC, with a December 2017 finish timeline.
