August 14 marked an exciting day for Marian, Inc., a premier flexible die-cutting components manufacturer located on the northeast side of downtown Indianapolis, as construction began on a much-needed addition to their facility. Shiel Sexton employees, architects, and Marian, Inc. executives and staff came together over coffee and pastries to commemorate the monumental step for the company.

Shiel Sexton will be providing preconstruction, construction, and project management services as Marian, Inc. expands their headquarters to the south.

The 12,000 SF precast and steel structure will house the tool shop and machinery portion of the business, while the existing building will continue to hold office and manufacturing space. Marian, Inc. builds and maintains the majority of the machines used for their manufacturing. The addition will consolidate their machine shop staff and processes, allowing the company to be much more efficient and creative for years to come.

Since the groundbreaking, there has been heavy concrete demolition, storm sewer installations, and the construction of the building pad. Before cold weather sets in, the project will beĀ under roof and water tight. Shiel Sexton and its subcontractors will continue to work diligently at Marian, Inc., and are excited to see project milestones met!
