The 2021 Shiel Sexton summer interns had a busy day touring six jobsites ranging from fully completed and operational to early construction stage and everything in between. The toured projects included:
- TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park
- International School of Indiana Chen Family Lower School Pre-K Elementary
- Park Tudor Irsay Family Sports Center for Health and Wellness
- SEP Headquarters
- INCOG BioPharma Services
- Bottleworks District
At each jobsite stop on the tour, Shiel Sexton team members shared valuable information about that particular project and answered any job-specific, technique, or construction-industry questions for the interns.
With interns spread across two states and located on various jobsites as well as in office departments, this tour gave exposure to other elements that the students may not see every day on their assigned placement. This hands-on approach gives them the knowledge to think outside of the classroom textbooks and focus on real-world situations as they arise.
