AHEPA Affordable Housing Management Company, Inc. (AMC) of Fishers, Indiana, and its managing member Hellenic Senior Living – Hamilton MM, Inc. recently selected Shiel Sexton as its partner to construct two new senior living facilities in Indianapolis and New Albany, IN. Both projects are unique due to the fact they will incorporate Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to create an affordable housing index for the residents. LIHTC utilization for Senior Living is a fairly new approach in Indiana. The first Senior Living project in Indiana to capture the credits was Oasis at 30th, which was constructed by Shiel Sexton and completed in June 2015.

Each facility will incorporate 125 units, 3 stories and roughly 104,000 SF of space. Ohio-based Berardi + Partners is serving as the architect for both facilities and is designing each with the goal of achieving LEEDĀ® SilverĀ certification.

Shiel Sexton is expected to break ground on both facilities before fall 2016.
