Shiel Sexton Intern Spotlight…

Lucas Carrico is a Senior at Purdue University, and he is majoring in Construction Management. 

What projects will you be working on/are involved with this summer?  

Over the next two months I will be working on the Sunbeam Project. 

Have you worked at Shiel Sexton before?  

Yes, I worked at Shiel Sexton last summer on the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Renovation Project. 

What is your past internship experience (if any)?  

I worked at Shiel Sexton last summer and I had an internship at ICI Inc in 2019. 

What are you hoping to learn this summer with this internship?  

I am hoping to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes of a construction project and experience the types of situations I may be put into in my future career. 

How will this internship advance your career?/ Where would you like your career to go?  

This internship will help me advance my construction knowledge and teamwork capabilities. I would like to pursue a career as a Project Manager and hopefully work my way up from there in the future.  

What do you like about working at Shiel Sexton?  

I enjoy working at Shiel Sexton because of the great relationships I have made so far with my coworkers as well as the overall maturity and professionalism of the company.
