This month, Shiel Sexton celebrated not one, but two groundbreaking ceremonies alongside AHEPA Affordable Housing Management Company, Inc. The firm is opening two new senior living facilities located in Indianapolis and New Albany, Indiana, and held ceremonies at both respective sites. AHEPA CEO, Art Poly, acted as master of ceremonies at both events, which included a blessing by a local priest. The presentations also featured speakers representing key partners in both projects. 

These two buildings mark AHEPA’s first time venturing into nonprofit Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to achieve affordable housing care for aging adults. Along with constructing a new type of facility, AHEPA also chose a new partner in Shiel Sexton. AHEPA trusted Shiel Sexton to build both of these projects simultaneously, and we intend to give them more than they expect throughout the entire process!  

Each building will be three-stories and consist of 125 units equating to approximately 104,000 SF of space. Ohio-based Berardi+ Partners is serving as the architect for both facilities and is designing each with the goal of achieving LEED® Silver certification.
