Throughout our company’s history, Shiel Sexton has been a staunch supporter of United Way. Along with running our annual donation campaign, we are proud to be led by compassionate people who also contribute time and energy to United Way.

CEO/President Mike Dilts assumed the position of Volunteer Lead for Events in 2017. United Way of Central Indiana is celebrating 100 years of giving back to the greater Indianapolis area, and has spent the past year marking this momentous success with multiple commemorative events.

“I have truly enjoyed helping create a series of events that capture the significance and the great community impact of United Way,” Says Dilts. “I am particularly excited for what is coming on April 19 and 20. On April 19, volunteers will come together from around Indianapolis to help their community, in numerous ways, for one hour that day.”

Perhaps the largest display will occur on April 20, when United Way of Central Indiana takes over the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Handraisers for 100 initiative. Tens of thousands of volunteers will come together to be part of an enormous public arts spectacle, one that uniquely encapsulates the aura of the yearlong celebration. Celebrities, community leaders, mayors from the five contiguous counties surrounding Indianapolis, and the Governor will be in attendance.

“The event at IMS will really be a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” says Dilts. “I am so proud to help develop the idea for the Speedway visual, and am eager to see everyone come together on April 20 to carry out this vision.”

As for Shiel Sexton, we will kick off our UWCI campaign on March 26th   and will engage in a week full of activities. We are pleased to continue supporting United Way into year 101!
