At the start of the 2016-17 school year, students at Butler University and University of Louisville moved into two brand new student housing complexes constructed in partnership with Shiel Sexton and American Campus Communities (ACC). Butler’s Fairview House and University of Louisville’s University Pointe were completed just in time for the fall semester. Both properties offer students a variety of amenities.

Fairview House

Located along Sunset Ave. just south of Butler Way, Butler’s Fairview House provides a new gateway to the Butler campus. The 210,000 SF pod-style dormitory offers 600 beds in six and eight-resident floor plans with private bathrooms and a kitchenette in every suite. Laundry centers and uniquely designed lounge, study, and entertainment spaces are also available on each floor.

Fairview House features ample amenities for residents, including an on-site cardio fitness room, media center, social space with video display walls and fireside casual seating, an iMac bar in the entry lounge, a billiard and gaming room, and a business center with print stations and private study space. Three courtyards also feature lounge areas, green space, and barbeque grills for outdoor recreation.

University Pointe

University Pointe offers University of Louisville students modern living amenities with apartment-style floorplans that feature private bedrooms and bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and laundry facilities in every fully furnished unit. The student housing complex also features an academic success center with iMac bar, study rooms located throughout the building, a 24-hour fitness center, and a recreational center with lounge space and an expansive game room.

University Pointe’s courtyards provide students with two outdoor recreational spaces. The north courtyard features a swimming pool, hot tub, barbeque grill, and plenty of outdoor lounge space, while the south courtyard includes a fire pit, field turf, a barbecue grill, and additional outdoor lounge space.

Shiel Sexton is pleased to deliver these two great projects with American Campus Communities and we look forward to working with these two great universities.
