  • Mike Dilts

    Mike Dilts, Chairman / CEO

    Mike joined Shiel Sexton in 1985 and worked his way through project management, account management and business development before leading operations. As Chairman and CEO, Mike is responsible for Shiel Sexton’s overall vision, strategy, and financial soundness. Mike volunteers his time across multiple community organizations including United Way of Central Indiana, Providence Cristo Rey High School, Indianapolis Public Safety Foundation (IPSF), Marian University, Indiana Sports Corp., and the Governor's Residence Commission, among others.

  • Kevin Hunt

    Kevin Hunt, President

    Kevin Hunt began his career at Shiel Sexton in 1989, working through project management, estimating and marketing. As President and Chief Operating Officer, Kevin is responsible for the management of operations and implementation of corporate strategies. He is involved in several organizations including Forum Credit Union as chairman of the board, Indiana Construction Roundtable as board member, and Indy Chamber as board member and Finance Committee member. Kevin enjoys being involved in various sports through coaching, participating, and as a spectator.

  • Dan Murphy

    Dan Murphy, Chief Financial Officer

    After spending over 25 years in a variety of accounting and finance positions both in public accounting and with a major insurance corporation, Dan joined Shiel Sexton as CFO in 2007. Dan is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of accounting, finance and information technology efforts. Dan helped to led Shiel Sexton through an ownership transition in 2012 to its current status as a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Dan serves on the finance committee of the Indiana Sports Corp. He and his wife, Marla, have five children and enjoy volunteer time together at Gennesaret and are active members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

  • Kris Altice

    Kris Altice, General Counsel

    Kris joined Shiel Sexton in 1999, becoming the first general counsel for the growing firm. With 30 years of experience in construction law and business litigation, her legal background has been a valuable asset to Shiel Sexton. Kris has served on several boards including the Methodist Health Foundation, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indianapolis 500 Festival, Ruth Lilly Health Education Center, and the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series. Kris was also instrumental in assisting Shiel Sexton's transformation into an ESOP company. Kris is a frequent speaker on topics related to construction law and in-house counsel issues. In her down time, Kris enjoys golf and cooking.

  • Dennis Dye

    Dennis Dye, EVP, Real Estate

    Dennis brings more than 20 years of development and construction experience to Shiel Sexton. As Executive Vice President of Real Estate, Dennis strategically develops and grows the development services of Shiel Sexton. His well-respected approach of putting the client’s needs priority blends perfectly with our Expect More belief at Shiel Sexton. Dedicated to improving the Indianapolis community, Dennis contributes his time to many organizations including Vice Chair of Indiana Sports Corporation, Chair of the Horizon League Basketball Tournament Local Organizing Committee, Board Member of the 2022 Indy College Football Playoff, and the Butler University Lacy School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council.

  • Chuck Scholer

    Chuck Scholer, Chief Operating Officer

    Chuck joined Shiel Sexton in 1989 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer Trades. With oversite of Shiel Sexton’s Trades, Chuck provides focused strategic leadership to grow our trade offerings that partner with our Construction team, as well as serving other customers. Chuck continues to serve as a leader on large construction projects. In his downtime, Chuck enjoys golfing and gardening.

  • Matt Barnes

    Matt Barnes, Chief Operating Officer

    With 37 years of industry experience, Matt has built a personal portfolio of large-scale projects throughout the United States including healthcare, life sciences, R&D, aviation, public transit, and hotels. As the leader of Shiel Sexton Construction, Matt will have oversight responsibilities for all construction services ensuring quality, service, and delivery for Shiel Sexton’s customers and subcontractor partnerships.

    Matt has spent the past seven years helping the City of Indianapolis develop the Community Justice Campus including the Adult Detention Center, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Civil and Criminal Courthouse, Assessment and Intervention Center, Coroner’s Office, Forensics’ Laboratory, Youth and Family Services Center and Judicial Parking Garage. Matt also worked with the Capital Improvement Board of Marion County to complete the renovation of Gainbridge Fieldhouse to create the Fieldhouse of the Future for the Indiana Pacers.

  • Frank Duck

    Frank Duck, Executive Vice President of Operations

    Frank has over 30 years of experience at Shiel Sexton. He leads Shiel Sexton’s internal efforts to continually improve processes and drive innovation to ensure excellence in delivery of projects for our clients. He also continues to partner with clients on large construction projects. Frank is involved in serving his church and other community organizations. He is known around the office as a lover of animals and big fan of “Take your Dog to Work” day. Frank enjoys an active lifestyle that includes swimming, biking and running.

  • John Andrews

    John Andrews, Vice President of Preconstruction

    John joined Shiel Sexton in 2003. As Vice President of Preconstruction, he oversees project planning and development, develops new clientele and ensures the company is aligned with the long term strategic plan. John is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Penrod Society, Indianapolis Cultural Trail Board, and the St. Roch Catholic School Commission. John enjoys running and coaching his son’s football and wrestling teams at St. Roch Catholic School.

    Heather Halliburton, Vice President of Human Resources

    Heather Halliburton brings more than 20 years of human resources and talent management experience to her role as Vice President of Human Resources. Heather’s innovative, forward-thinking approach to the employee experience allows her to help the company navigate the complex balance between personal and professional life. Her focus revolves around strategy and leadership, talent development, and championing employee culture. Heather earned her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Management & Marketing and her Master of Science in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. Locally, Heather serves the community as a board member for Prevail, Inc.

    Tony Eisenhut, Vice President of Field Operations

    Tony has been a valuable member of the Shiel Sexton team for 25 years and has 40 years of industry experience. As Vice President of Field Operations, Tony calls upon his years of experience to lead Shiel Sexton’s superintendent team. Tony works to ensure strong integration with our project and safety teams as well as building strong subcontractor and client relationships. He’s passionate about impacting the future generation of construction workers, serving as a member of the Purdue University Construction Advisory Council.

  • Brad Magee

    Brad Magee, Vice President of Operations

    Brad began his career at Shiel Sexton as a summer employee in 1983, transitioning to full time in 1985. Brad’s responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all aspects of construction operations from preconstruction through closeout. He is comprehensive and thorough at managing the details of the project from start to finish and is masterful at maintaining accountability among the project team members. Brad volunteers at Gleaners Food Bank and other community organizations. In his free time, Brad spends time outdoors and restoring antique farming tractors.

    Joe Shanahan, Vice President of Operations

    Recently celebrating 25 years with Shiel Sexton, Joe is one of the company’s most thorough leaders. Joe is an expert in the management of complex projects and is skilled at managing intricate teams with multiple stakeholders. As Vice President of Operations, Joe’s primary responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all aspects of construction operations from preconstruction through closeout. A Boilermaker through and through, Joe loves cheering on Purdue University and visiting new places with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law.
