In 2008 Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) renovated a former urban warehouse into their headquarters, becoming a leader in incorporating green space into their everyday life. This year KIB received additional funding to install the green roof and bolster their environmental credentials of the LEED® Gold structure. Built during the early 20th Century, the building structure was updated modestly to be able to hold the green roof system. KIB teamed up with Shiel Sexton, a local architect, and a green roof designer to create a space that would inspire and remake the urban experience into a living, breathing landscape infused with nature. Over 85% of the 15,422 SF vegetative roof is comprised of native Indiana prairie flowers. Thank you KIB for your ongoing commitment to sustainability. We are proud to be part of this great project!
