SSC/McFarland Corbitt Partner on Two CHA Projects
The Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) has awarded Shiel Sexton/McFarland Corbitt, a team collaboration, the renovation of Parktowne Terrace in the affluent Southpark area. This $8-10 million Construction Management project includes the renovation of six stories/164 units of lower income housing. All mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems will be upgraded along with all common areas. This project will pursue LEED Silver certification and ambitious 35% M/WBE participation goals.

Additionally, Shiel Sexton/McFarland Corbitt was awarded the fire suppression improvements project at Edwin Towers by the CHA. Edwin Towers is a 175-unit, 14-story senior living facility located in Uptown Charlotte’s historic Fourth Ward.
McFarland Corbitt is a subsidiary of Corbitt and Sons Construction, whom Shiel Sexton has partnered with on multiple projects, including various projects for Indianapolis Public Schools and Butler University.
