After the successful completion of Phase I, a $30 million mixed-use development at the Ironworks at Keystone property, Shiel Sexton has been selected as construction manager for Phase II, a 101,000 SF, 120-room boutique hotel. The ground level will include retail, hotel lobby and meeting space, administrative offices, and a common area. The four-story hotel will also feature two restaurants.

Special considerations for the project include reforestation to maintain the surrounding ecology and building within a flood plain. An aggressive schedule, tight site logistics, and unsuitable soils will create some challenges for the Shiel Sexton team, but plans to construct with post-tensioned concrete atop of geopiers will mitigate those challenges.

The Ironworks at Keystone Hotel is the first high-end, boutique hotel in the Keystone Crossing area and features extensive use of brick, historic windows, and high-end finishes that make this a unique addition to the local hospitality market.
