The Difference

Don't just ask us… Ask our clients.

We recognize that building green is an important and challenging business decision for our clients. There are literally thousands of options with regards to systems, materials and configuration. Our job is to help you understand the cost and impact of building green so that you are able to quanitfy the impact on your capital budget. The Shiel Sexton green building is made up of LEED-accredited professionals at every level of the company: from executive management, to our quality management staff, project management, site supervision and estimators. We overlay this expertise with a tightly developed green building program designed to control a project from design through occupancy. As the owner of three LEED-certified office buildings, we fully understand the pressures that drive such projects. We continue to build on these lessons learned. This has proven to be enormously beneficial to our clients.

“The process was tedious, but Shiel Sexton kept impeccable records of what was used and recycled. With their help and recommendations, we used material that was indigenous to the state, resulting in a higher certificiation rating than anticipated. DePauw University is fortunate to have a partner in Shiel Sexton. They see the venture through our eyes resulting in a balanced budget, excellent aesthetics and function.”

“From the very beginning stages of our project, i.d.o. intentionally set out to design a space that was not only innovative in appearance and functionality but also elligible to meet LEED-CI standards. We also recognized that the solution to the LEED-CI project depended on two essentials: assembling a team of professional experts willing to learn and innovate and would most importantly, commit to a more strategic integrated design process… It was an easy choice for me when I asked Shiel Sexton to join us on our journey of discovery. Shiel Sexton and the team of experts they brought to our project contributed to every aspect of the LEED requirements.”

Jill Mendoza, i.d.o. Inc. (Innovative Design Offerings)

“We appreciate the many contributions of the Design-Build team partnership between Shiel Sexton and CSO Architects that resulted in the successful completion of Geddes Hall. The team was instrumental in achieving all 42 LEED Credit points originally sought, giving Geddes Hall a Gold NC 2.0 Certification. We are extremely pleased with the sustainability expertise that both entities brought forth during design, construction, and the overall LEED design and construction process.”
