The foundation of our green building strategy is to staff project teams with accredited, qualified green building professionals at each stage of the project.
In 2008, Shiel Sexton earned LEED Silver certification on the renovation of the company headquarters in Indianapolis. Our investment in a greener, more sustainable factility has already translated to significant payback. Results of the renovation include a 15.5% energy savings and 33.6% water savings.

One of the most significant steps in our corporate sustainability program has been a comprehensive recycling effort. We have established recycling guidelines within our quality and sustainability programs and have given each employee the opportunity to recycle waste. Every desk, workstation and job site trailer is equipped with recycling containers.
Shiel Sexton has dedicated its commitment to Reducing Our Footprint by adding high efficiency hybrid vehicles to its fleet of cars. Through the purpose and utilization of one high efficiency vehicle, Shiel Sexton will save over $16,000 over five years and our carbon reduction will be 75 tons.
