  • Mike Dilts

    Mike Dilts, CEO/President

    Mike joined Shiel Sexton in 1985. He worked through project management, account management and business development before leading operations. As CEO and President, Mike is responsible for assuring that operations will meet and exceed Shiel Sexton’s strategic goals and objectives. Mike volunteers his time across multiple community organizations, including the United Way of Central Indiana, Providence Cristo Rey High School, Purdue Foundation Board and Marian University, among others. Mike is very active with Indiana Sports Corp.

  • Brian Sullivan

    Brian Sullivan, Managing Partner

    Brian began his career in 1978 researching and publishing for the Indiana construction industry. In 1996, Brian joined Shiel Sexton as a Partner-in-Charge of Business Development. Brian is currently Managing Partner and is responsible for Shiel Sexton’s strategic initiatives and business development. Brian is active on several community not-for-profits, including the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc. / Pacers Bike Share, Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, among others. In his down time, Brian enjoys cycling and photography.

  • Ben Wilhelm

    Ben Wilhelm, President Carolinas Region

    Ben joined Shiel Sexton in 2000. Ben left his headquarters post as Vice President of Business Development in 2007 to expand Shiel Sexton’s operations in the Carolinas. Anchored in Charlotte, NC, Ben has led Shiel Sexton’s operations to complete over $300 million in a variety of public and private market sectors. Ben chairs Shiel Sexton’s ESOP Committee and is a corporate board member. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the Charlotte Chamber, Board of Managers for Harris YMCA, Charlotte Preparatory School Board of Trustees and Board of Directors for 24 Hours of Booty supporting the Livestrong Foundation.

  • Kevin Hunt

    Kevin Hunt, Chief Operating Officer

    Kevin Hunt began his career at Shiel Sexton in 1989, working through project management, estimating and marketing. As Chief Operating Officer, Kevin is responsible for overall management of all construction operations. He serves on the board of directors for Indianapolis-based Forum Credit Union, IUPUI Engineering and Technology Board of Advisors and is active with the Indiana Subcontractor Association. Kevin enjoys being involved in various sports through coaching, participating and a spectator of his children’s high school and college games.

  • Dan Murphy

    Dan Murphy, Chief Financial Officer

    After spending 25 years in a variety of accounting and finance positions both in public accounting and with a major insurance corporation, Dan joined Shiel Sexton as Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Dan is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of accounting, finance and information technology efforts. Dan serves on the Indiana Sports Corp Advisory Board and the Pilgrim Lutheran Church Benefaction Fund and board of directors. Dan and his wife, Marla, have five children and enjoy volunteer time together at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana and Gennesaret Free Clinic.

  • Kris Altice

    Kris Altice, General Counsel

    Kris joined Shiel Sexton in 1999, becoming the first general counsel for the growing firm. With 26 years of experience in construction law and business litigation, her legal background has been a valuable asset to Shiel Sexton. Kris serves on several boards, including the Methodist Health Foundation, Indiana Repertory Theatre and Indianapolis 500 Festival. Kris is a frequent speaker on topics related to construction law and in-house counsel issues. In her down time, Kris enjoys golf and cooking.

  • John Andrews

    John Andrews, VP Business Development and Marketing

    John joined Shiel Sexton in 2003. As Vice President of Business Development and Marketing, he develops new clientele and ensures the company is aligned with the long term strategic plan. John is active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Penrod Art Fair and is an active member of the Indianapolis’ CEO’s for Cities cluster. He is also currently serving as Board Chair for Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. John enjoys running and coaching his son’s football and wrestling teams at St. Roch Catholic School.

  • Chuck Scholer

    Chuck Scholer, Vice President of Operations

    Chuck joined Shiel Sexton in 1989. After several years of demonstrated success in the management of complex projects, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations. Chuck’s primary responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all aspects of construction operations. He is active with Joy’s House, a not-for-profit organization that provides physical, mental and financial relief for families caring for a loved one. In his downtime, Chuck enjoys golfing and gardening.

  • Matt Barnes

    Matt Barnes, Vice President of Operations

    With more than 25 years of industry experience, Matt has built a personal portfolio of large scale projects throughout the United States, including large aviation facilities, government operations, public transit and hotels. Matt's primary responsibilities include executive oversight and management of construction projects and corporate operations. He ensures appropriate staffing levels and resource management and is responsible for the master level budget, schedule alignment and program compliance goals. Matt is a DBIA Designated Design-Build Professional and a LEED® Accredited Professional.

  • Heather Devocelle

    Heather Devocelle, Vice President of Talent Management

    Heather is the Vice President of Talent Management at Shiel Sexton. With over 20 years of management experience, including six years in a leadership role with the State of Indiana, Heather has an extensive background in human resources, business, and training & development. Heather is responsible for assessing Shiel Sexton’s talent needs and addressing them through creative and forward-thinking acquisition, engagement, development, and retention programs. In her personal life, when not managing the logistics of youth sports participation with basketball, football, and baseball, Heather is excited to be participating in community development work as a member of Aspire Johnson County, a community development initiative, and as an Advisory Board Member of the Purdue Bound program, an initiative that encourages minorities and students from low income areas to study STEM majors at the collegiate level.

  • Richard (Buddy) Hennessey

    Richard (Buddy) Hennessey, Executive Vice President, Real Estate

    Buddy joined Shiel Sexton in in 2002 and manages real estate assets and developments for the firm. After graduating from Indiana University in accounting, Buddy joined Price Waterhouse, eventually becoming the tax partner in charge of its Indianapolis office. Before joining Shiel Sexton, he also spent eight years as the owner/manager of a private real estate equity firm. Buddy is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.

  • Andy Sahm

    Andy Sahm, Vice President of Real Estate

    As Vice President of Real Estate, Andy provides a full range of building services to our clients that include planning, development, finance, and property management. Andy began his career as an architect and then project manager before joining Shiel Sexton in 2008. At Shiel Sexton he has worked in business development, preconstruction, and real estate development. Andy is an AIA member and LEED Accredited Professional. Outside of the office he enjoys serving in the community on the Indianapolis Art Center Board, Penrod Society, Cub Scouts, youth sports coach, and volunteering with his church.
