Managing the Phase I masterplan project for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Shiel Sexton was once again at the forefront of construction for this world renowned museum.
The project included a permanent Dinosphere, creating a multi-level, multi-sensory, immersive environment of dinosaur scenes accompanied by light and sound effects, plus a juvenile dinosaur research center and related exhibits, supported by a dinosaur dig, a functioning paleontology lab, a question lab, and a gallery featuring a diverse collection of dinosaur art.
Additional phases of the project included an expanded dining area, new collections storage, new lower level egress corridor and a new Dinosphere entrance consisting of a 200 foot pedestrian ramp descending from the interior pavilion of the museum to the Dinosphere exhibit space to symbolize a transition into “Their World.” |
