Purdue Research Foundation

The Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) in West Lafayette, IN, has repeatedly called upon Shiel Sexton to deliver its most challenging and critical projects. As the country’s largest university affiliated research park, the Purdue Research Park cultivates some of the world’s most advanced, cutting-edge technologies, particularly within the pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing industries.

The Purdue Technology Center and the Ross Center are among the more significant of PRF / Shiel Sexton collaborations.

Shiel Sexton provided construction services for the first phase of the 85,000 sf. Technology Center as well as the Phase II 55,000 sf. expansion.  The facility contains three incubators and two graduation facilities which exist to house life science technology start-ups.  The newest expansion added more flexible research lab and office space, allowing the housing of more life science tenants.

The Ross Center was built from a vacant Whirlpool Appliance Packaging Building located in the Park. The major focus of construction was tenant space development of over 110,000 sf., including outfitting the building to be the new central data hub facility for the entire research park.
